大悲咒
3. 婆盧羯帝.爍缽囉耶
pó lú jié dì .shuò bō là yē。
觀世音菩薩持缽相
譯:「婆盧羯帝」為觀、光、觀察;
Interpretation: “Po Lu Jie Di” represents
observing, light, examining;
「爍缽囉」為自在、世音;
“Shuo Bo La” as comfortable/at ease, the noise/sound of life;
「耶」為禮。
“Ye” means propriety / etiquette / courtesy.
意為敬禮自在觀世音。
Meaning to respect with unrestrained “Quan
Yin Bodhisattva”
解說:此句是菩薩悲憫人生的苦惱,
Explaination: This verse is Bodhisattva taking
pity (with compassion) on the problems of this life;
特發大慈悲心,
Expressing a big compassionate heart;
以拯救一切眾生同修佛果的真言。
The truth about saving
all living beings through cultivating the Buddha’s way (fruit).
觀自在菩薩是不執著眼、耳、鼻、舌、身、意的六根清淨菩薩,
Observing the self to Bodhisattva means not to be attach to eye,
ear, nose, tongue, body, meaning which represent the six roots to a pure and
peaceful Bodhisattva.
所以修道人總要先讓自己心地光明,
Therefore those who cultivate must first of all let themselves
to have a bright and clear inner self.
性情純潔,
A temperament which is pure and clean;
然後才可修習大道。
Only then can one practice the big cultivation.
而人世間的一切榮華富貴,
All the riches and splendor in this world;
名利恩愛,
Fame and love;
無不轉眼皆空,
All will become empty in an instance;
所有的色、聲、香、昧等,亦是似夢似幻,
All the color, sound, fragrance, taste, are all from a dream of
fantasy;
像鏡花水月般不會長久。
Like a “flowers in a mirror and the moon reflected in the lake
(idiom) / fig. an unrealistic rosy view / viewing things through rose-tinted
spectacles” which will not last for long;
因此,修道者應了悟這些道理,
Thus those who cultivate must understand this reasoning;
緊閉六門,
Close tightly the six doors;
依定而行,
Follow definitedly the way;
方能不為外境所惑,
Only then will not be tempted
by external temptation;
而能深入無上妙諦,
To be able to enter deeply the highest wondrous truth of
Buddhism.
得窺佛門堂奧。
To peep into the
mysterious door of the Buddhist’s hall.
持钵观音救世间
Holding a bowl, Contemplating Sounds saves us mortals.
应病与药润三千
应病与药润三千
Prescribing medicine to cure our ills, he nurtures the three
thousand worlds.
拜礼虔诚护感召
拜礼虔诚护感召
Bowing in homage, we earnestly entreat him to answer our
calls.
一切所求满心愿
一切所求满心愿
In various ways he fulfills all our heart's desires.
